The Grassmere Room

The Grassmere Room is dedicated to children aged 2 to 5 years, with a ratio of 1 adult to 5 children for children aged 2-3 years and 1 adult to 8 children for children aged 3-5 years. Our passionate and experienced team works hard to provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where every child feels secure and happy.

At Chafford Tots to Teens Childcare Services, our enriching curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, and our Grassmere team implements this curriculum through fun, engaging activities that support each child's growth and learning. Throughout the day, children follow a structured routine that includes both free play and focused learning activities. Some of the activities children enjoy include messy play, rhyme time, story time, and music & movement. Additionally, outdoor visits are a part of their daily routine, promoting physical activity and fresh air.

The Grassmere Room is open 51 weeks of the year, from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, providing flexibility for working parents and carers.

Each child is allocated a Key Person to ensure their individual needs are met and to build a strong relationship with their family. Through the Key Person and the Grassmere team, you will be updated daily on all aspects of your child’s day, including activities, sleep times, toileting, and meal information. Updates are provided verbally at collection time and electronically through our online system.

We also understand that comfort is important, so children are welcome to bring a comforter to help them feel settled. We ask that comforters are kept in bags or on pegs when not in use, but rest assured, our team will take care of these special items.

As your child begins to show signs of becoming aware of their bodily functions, we are more than happy to partner with you to support potty training and ensure a smooth transition.
We provide all necessary items such as nappies, baby wipes, creams, potties, toilet trainer seats, and steps for the toilet and wash basin.
