Meals at Chafford Tots to Teens
At Chafford Tots to Teens Childcare Services Ltd, we recognise the importance of a healthy, balanced, and nutritious diet in supporting children's physical well-being, cognitive development, and overall welfare. Our meal provision is designed to meet the highest nutritional and food safety standards, in line with the Department for Education (DfE) Guidance and Food Standards Agency recommendations.
Daily Meal Provision
All meals and snacks are freshly prepared on-site by our kitchen team, ensuring that children receive wholesome, high-quality food throughout the day.
Breakfast
A nutritious start to the day with:
•Sugar-free cereals
•Fresh fruit
•Toast with a selection of healthy toppings

Morning & Afternoon Snacks
Healthy snack options include:
•Fresh fruit and vegetable batons
•Homemade dips
•Yoghurts
Lunch & Dinner (Main Meals)
We operate a three-week rotating menu, offering a variety of balanced, home-cooked meals that introduce children to diverse flavours and cuisines.
•All meals are designed to meet dietary and allergy requirements.
•A vegetarian option is always available.
•Meals are prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and allergen management protocols, ensuring that all dietary needs are safely accommodated.
Drinks
•Fresh drinking water and milk are available throughout the day.
Menus are displayed on the Parent’s Notice Board, regularly updated on our News Feed, and accessible via our Baby’s Days system.
Infant Feeding & Weaning
We follow the latest DfE guidance and Department of Health recommendations for infant feeding and weaning.
Baby Milk
Parents/carers are responsible for providing:
•Pre-measured formula powder and water in separate containers (as per food safety guidelines).
•Expressed breast milk in clearly labelled bottles.
Our trained staff will prepare fresh formula milk in our kitchen, ensuring hygiene and safety compliance.
Weaning (6+ Months)
•Weaning is introduced from six months of age, following current health guidelines.
•Our team prepares pureed versions of our standard meals, ensuring appropriate consistency for different developmental stages.
•Staff work in partnership with parents/carers to ensure a gradual and safe introduction to solid foods.
